The Golden Boy LinXTenzin

"Really?"
"Yeah, really. Me and Lin are a couple now Dad. We thought it would be better to tell you both. Are you happy for us?"
Lin and Tenzin were stood in the living room, his arm round her waist and Aang and me were in the kitchen when they had walked in and announced they were together.
"Of course I'm happy Tenzin. Lin is a lovely girl, you have my blessing." Aang approached his son and hugged him tightly, I saw my daughter was stood there, awkwardly. We locked eyes and I smiled at her, showing her I approved and she smiled back. We both weren't openly affectionate to each other; we showed our love secretly.
"Great, thanks Dad." Tenzin was blushing slightly and Aang just laughed lightly and patted his shoulder. He turned to Lin and embraced her.
"Take good care of my son Lin."
"Of course Aang. You know I will."
"Well if you are anything like your mother you will end up bruising him so be careful will ya?" He nudged Lin and laughed again, Lin nervously laughing.
"And Tenzin better take care of my daughter other wise it won't be Lin you will have to worry about." I gently threatened and grinned at Tenzin, who went statue scared and wide eyed. Tenzin knew me very well; not just from the stories told by everyone.
"Okay, well me and Lin have a dinner date so we'll be off."
"We'll see you two love birds later." I called out and both of them blushed red, with Lin turning around and moaning.
"Mother! Shut up!"
"You know I won't dear." Waving them off, me and Aang stood in the door way, watching them walk off down the path, holding hands and Lin nudging Tenzin with him laughing.
"You know Aang. They remind me of us when we were younger."
Aang looked at me and then back at the love birds.
"You know, they actually do Toph. Lin is very similar to you; hard edged, serious, but less threatening."
I laughed loudly and stared off at them, feeling proud of my daughter.
"But Aang, just to let you know, if your son does anything to hurt my Lin, I will kill you. You know that right?"
Aang turned to me, his face calm but serious.
"Come on Toph, you can't bubble wrap Lin. I know she's your only child but you have to let her handle situations herself."
"Aang." Leaning forward, I stared into his eyes and smirked. "Have you ever seen what a wild WolfTiger mother does to someone who has harmed their cub?"
Aang's heartbeat increased and I felt his pulse racing.
"N-No."
"Trust me, you don't want to see it."


A few months later ...

Sipping coffee while looking at my husband, a smirk was plastered on my face as I had the great satisfaction of watching my mighty Avatar husband banging his head against the table in dismay.
"What's wrong? The mighty Avatar Aang afraid of the chief of police?" My mocking voice caused him to look up and stare at me.
"Katara please... you know full well Toph will hang me for this!"
"Toph should realize it wasn't you who broke up with Lin, and in all honesty I'm glad Tenzin broke up with Lin."
"Why are you glad?" Aang looked puzzled and I swallowed another glup of coffee.
"Well Tenzin came in and spoke to me last night about it. He said he realized he wasn't in love with Lin anymore. He loved this other girl named Pema. He broke up with Lin because he loved another person. Isn't that better then staying in a relationship you're not happy with?"
Aang looked down and sighed.
"Yes I suppose. But Toph is going to have my head on a plate for this."
"I'm sure she will understand."

"I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE THE MIGHTY, ALL POWERFUL AVATAR! YOUR STUPID, GOLDEN BOY HAS BROKEN MY DAUGHTER'S HEART! WHERE ARE YOU? AANG? SHOW YOUR FACE! WHEN I'M THROUGH WITH YOU, YOU'LL WISH YOUR LOVEY DOVEY WIFE NEVER FOUND YOU IN THAT ICEBERG!"

"You were saying?" Aang glared at me and I suppressed a laugh.
He rose up and wrapped his arms round my waist and kissed me passionately.
His lips moved to my ear and he whispered softly. "If I don't survive, can I remind you that you are the most beautiful woman in the entire world and that I wake up every morning thanking the spirits you gave me the honor of becoming my wife, and mother of my beautiful children."
I giggled and kissed him back.
"You better go before she comes in and destroys the house."
"Will do, I can feel her approaching the house. She's not the only earthbender." He winked and got on his air ball and zoomed away.

I laughed as I heard the commotion of Toph throwing abuse and earth at Aang as he tried to defend his son while defending himself at the same time.

"Just like old times. Sort of."
